Bison Transport Recognized for Environmental Sustainability and Exceptional Operational Safety
Tuesday, October 06, 2009, Las Vegas, Nevada – Bison Transport is recognized for environmental sustainability and exceptional operational safety.
Today, Bison Transport was presented with an Environmental Excellence Award for leadership in conserving energy and lowering greenhouse gas emissions by the U.S. EPA SmartWay Transport Partnership.
Bison Transport was one of the first Canadian companies out of a select group of fifteen shipping and business leaders to join SmartWay back in 2004.
"Our partnership with SmartWay ties directly into our on-going commitment to be more efficient and environmentally responsible," said Don Streuber, President & CEO.
Today, Bison was also awarded the Volvo Trucks Safety Award in the over 10 million mile category for efforts in upholding the highest standards of safety in the trucking industry. Don Streuber states "Safety to us is truly accident prevention and we've had a wonderful working relationship with Volvo... ensuring that their care and concern for safety matches our care and concern for safety".
Both awards were presented at the American Trucking Association Management Conference & Exhibition in Las Vegas.
