First Year Tuition Assistance at a Manitoba* College or University
Requirements for Application
- Minimum 80% grade point average in final year of study in at least three of the following: Mathematics, Chemistry, Geography, Physics, Biology and History
- PLUS English or French Language
(If more than three of the discretionary subjects are taken, the best three plus the English or French language score will determine the grade point average) - Copy of transcript or Official statement of marks to accompany application
- Manitoba resident
- Deadline for application to be received at MTA office is NOON Monday, July 12, 2010
- 2010 Fall or Winter session
* A non-Manitoba Institution will be considered if the field of study is not offered in Manitoba

Requirements for Application
- Applicants can be attending or planning to attend university, college, apprenticeship, private vocational institute, distance learning, continuing education or private institute and will be pursuing post secondary education in a transportation related discipline.
- Selection is based on a combination of academic achievement, community involvement and financial need.

Two Awards of $1,000, Two Awards of $500 cash and $500 in Tools
$1,000 Associated Trades Division Awards
- For the highest marks achieved on Level 2 examinations by apprentices in Manitoba's Truck and Transport Mechanic or Transport Trailer Technician apprenticeship program.
- Each award is a cheque for $1,000.
$1,000 Vehicle Maintenance Council Awards
- For the highest marks achieved on Level 1 examinations by apprentices in Manitoba's Truck and Transport Mechanic or Transport Trailer Technician apprenticeship program
- Each award is $500 in cash and $500 in tools.
