What does it take to be a Bison Transport Driver? It goes beyond Driver skills. It’s a special calling that requires dedication, experience, talent and knowledge. Everyday, Bison Transport tractors are on the road throughout North America in all weather, traffic and road conditions. Our Drivers can successfully handle the complexity and stress of the modern professional Driver.
At Bison, we acknowledge this excellence in several ways. We organize weekly barbeques in the summer, we invite Drivers and their families to our terminals’ family day, we celebrate National Trucking Week and more. On a more formal basis we recognize and reward our Drivers regularly through various programs.
Bison offers a Safety Award Program, where our Drivers are recognized for driving safe and accident-free.

What is it? The Safe Driving Reward Program is an opportunity for all Bison Drivers to earn significant financial rewards by accumulating safe driving miles, or in the case of our local P&D Drivers, accumulating safe driving time.
For the most part, the Safe Driving Reward Program aligns itself with our current Safe Driver Awards, utilizing the existing safe driving milestones already in place. For each level of advancement in our safe driving milestones, the Driver earns a larger financial reward. This program was designed with the help of our Drivers, and has developed to be the best Safe Driving Reward Program available anywhere.
Since its beginnings in 2005 we have paid out over 4 million dollars to our Drivers for doing what they do best, driving safely. Our safest Driver is earning up to 10% more than they would have otherwise earned.
The Driver of the Month program was initiated as a formal means of recognizing those Drivers who exhibit outstanding Driver performance.
Driver of the Month is open to all Bison Drivers, Owner Operators and Lease Operators.
Candidates are chosen based on safety record, community involvement, customer service and exceeding required performance.
The Gold and Silver Club Programs recognize a Driver's tenure, safety and performance record. The members in these clubs receive recognition and benefits from the company in a number of ways, including company merchandise, opportunities for a new tractor and scheduled runs. Drivers participate in training programs and equipment testing and sit on Committees to shares their ideas, experiences and expertise.
