  • Responsible for ensuring on-the-floor manpower availability is sufficient to complete workload, by assigning and controlling overtime, time-off and vacation days
  • Monitor and enforce safe shop and work practices

Our ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A Journeyman’s certification, along with extensive truck and trailer experience is essential for this position
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience to be considered for this role
  • Strong organizational skills with a clear sense of urgency about planning and executing work

The Yard Check Clerk (YCC) is responsible for physical verification of trailers in the yard; timely and accurate reconciliation of the daily yard check; monitoring, tracking and verifying the accuracy of each trailer and trailer status in the yard; daily reports and status updates; other administration department duties as required; must be able to work for extended periods in an outside environment and be physically fit. Good communication skills and a professional attitude are basic requirements.  Other duties that promote yard security may also be assigned.

Specific Responsibilities include:

  • Tractor and trailer checks: On daily basis, the YCC is responsible for inspecting the Calgary trailer yard. This involves following a detailed inspection and identifying problems found during these inspections including thorough communication of issues to the Team Leads.
  • Reporting: Timely and accurate reconciliation of the daily yard check. Monitoring, tracking and verifying the accuracy of each tractor / trailer and status in the yard. Daily reports and status updates. Report any unusual or suspicious activity and/or undertake activities to manage these situations.  Other administrative duties required.
  • Other:
  • Assist shunt team in checking Reefer and Heated trailers throughout the morning /afternoon and checking and recording fuel levels.
  • General facility clean-up.

Hours- Monday to Friday 0800hrs – 1600hrs

Responsibilities include:   - Responsible for the accurate and efficient process of shipping, receiving, of freight, and also stocking, replenishment and picking of merchandise. - Ensures compliance with all appropriate policies, best practices and safety rules. - Willing to work occasional extended hours as required and able to handle up to 50 pound boxes - Other duties as required
