This position is a key member of the Searcy team and reporting to the Director of Finance & Administration.  The Accounting Supervisor contributes to the overall success of the organization by effectively managing monthly journal entries, GST, PST, and fuel remittances.  As well, this individual will be responsible for driving and non-driving staff payroll, financial reporting, and supporting the annual audit.  The Accounting Supervisor must be hands on, and support other departments in their day-to-day financial needs such as reporting, accounting policies, and implementing new processes.  The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for mentoring, training and developing their staff. 

 

The successful candidate possesses:

·         Successful completion of a post-secondary degree (majoring  in Accounting or Finance);

Qualifications:                                                       

·         You must be a certified Journeyman to be considered for this role

·         You are required to have one year of post-secondary education, and 2 years of experience in less than 5 year period

·         Demonstrated diagnosing and time-management abilities will be key to your success in this position

·         Previous experience and qualification to perform Alberta Safeties are considered an asset in this position

Please note this position is permanent full-time (40 hours per week) and subject to a modified work schedule. 

The various modified shifts include:

Monday – Thursday, 05:30-16:00

The LTL Coordinator is responsible for managing the daily activity of our LTL clients primarily .   • The LTL Coordinator will be a single point of contact between their assigned customer(s) and Bison Transport—ensuring that the customer’s needs are properly understood and served.
  • Along with the knowledge of all their customer’s individual shipment requirements, the LTL Coordinator must also know their general trends of business volume, the destination mix, and any changes or unusual developments. This knowledge would include the status of competitors, and general business conditions as they apply to the client and relate to our business with them.

The Fleet Dispatcher/Planner – City Operations will execute the day to day activity of their assigned region.  This includes monitoring of the fleet, accurately distributing, receiving and updating information. Identifying and participating in the resolution of issues relating to day to day driver activities is an essential responsibility of the CDP. The Dispatcher/Planner is also accountable for coordinating assets to satisfy the needs of clients, drivers and the company. Key roles of the Planner are to accurately predict availability and potential of assets in their assigned region, and properly acquire freight to effectively utilize those assets in the best of interest of the company. They must solve problems, realize opportunities and communicate in a thorough and timely fashion with all co-workers.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

Dispatch:

·         This involves the transmitting and receiving of all information relevant to the driver/cartage company performing his/her duties within the Company and customer requirements

·         This involves the handling of all driver related satellite messages or calls within assigned and overflow queues

Planning:

·         Assemble the overall strategy by taking all relevant information, developing a plan and communicating it in an effective manner for execution

·         Recognize the need to adjust plans for Drivers to accommodate trouble situations and constructively react to those that cannot be foreseen

  • Ensure that Drivers are meeting productivity targets. These goals will be achieved through Driver days of work contribution, as well as effective planning and dispatching

Reporting:

·         This involves the recognition, communication and documentation of situations that should be reviewed by other parties, for information, action and record keeping purposes

Problem Resolution:

·         This involves working on behalf of both the Driver and the Company to resolve any day to day issues that may arise.  This includes:

-       Planning/Customer Service issues,

-       Pay/Payroll issues,

-       Driver issues regarding day to day activities,

-       Maintenance issues,

-       Repeat issues must be identified and forwarded to the incumbent’s supervisor for resolution
