Qualifications:

The Driver Leader is accountable for the overall productivity and performance of their assigned drivers and tractors. This will be accomplished through ongoing review of key performance indicators, followed by active participation in strategies to positively affect results. The FM is also expected to be a leader for the entire department by providing direction and support on a day to day basis.

Specific Responsibilities include:

·         Lead and retain a designated fleet of drivers as well as an assigned fleet of 60-75 tractors

·         Establish a good working relationship with each driver

·         Ensure that assigned fleet of tractors is utilized in the best interests of the company.  In its basic form, this responsibility means maximizing the number of days per month that tractors are productive

·         Ensure that assigned drivers are meeting productivity targets

·         Ongoing management of driver performance outside of mileage and days of work, with a focus on company policy and procedures

·         Ensure payroll accuracy for assigned drivers.

·         Working on behalf of both the driver and the company to resolve any day to day or long term issues in order to positively affect driver retention statistics

·         Ensure that all daily dispatch activities are carried out in a timely manner

The Role:

The Safety Counselor will uphold and partake in the Vision, Mandate and Responsibilities of the Safety Department. Safety must recognize, identify, analyze and measure risk as well as implement methods, processes, education and training to minimize risk and raise awareness. This includes managing the risk and liability of the company by ensuring standards and practices meet or exceed those required by regulatory agencies and by Bison’s highway safety program, equipment safety program, health and safety program, and immediate and/or emergency response tasks strategies. Counselors must be able to identify causes, assess driver attitude, and deliver counseling and/or apply appropriate training to affect positive change and reinforce the culture of safety. The Safety Counselor will be responsible for counseling drivers within one-on-one interviews regarding safety issues and ensuring those drivers requiring additional training be set on the course of action to receive prescribed training. Additional responsibilities include researching and developing countermeasures to accidents, violations and inspection failures as well as informing and making recommendations on all matters related to safety.   Strong interpersonal and communication skills are keys to success in this position. Working knowledge of international safety and compliance issues as well as progressive knowledge in the transportation industry are required. You must have excellent analytical and problem solving skills in addition to proficient computer skills. Over the road driving experience is considered an asset.

Forklift Operator with Class 1 License - Langley

As part of our continued growth in Langley Terminal, we are looking for a Full-Time forklift driver who will be responsible for loading and unloading freight, filling out paperwork, and shunting trailers in yard. This role reports to the Operations Manager. The incumbent takes charge of the entire shipping/receiving/picking/packing process to ensure all shipments and orders are complete and meets transport pick up times.

Hours- Monday to Friday 0800hrs – 1600hrs

Responsibilities include:   - Responsible for the accurate and efficient process of shipping, receiving, of freight, and also stocking, replenishment and picking of merchandise. - Ensures compliance with all appropriate policies, best practices and safety rules. - Willing to work occasional extended hours as required and able to handle up to 50 pound boxes - Other duties as required  

Requirements:   - Forklift Certified - Class 1 driving license - Experience in a Distribution Centre/Warehouse role desirable - Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing - Good analytical and mathematical skills - Strong organizational skills; attention to detail - Ability to meet urgent deadlines - Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
