This is a challenging role, requiring a great deal of motivation and initiative offering you the opportunity to build a rewarding career with a leading transportation company. The Customer Service Representative (CSR) is accountable for the company’s relationship with the clients that he or she has been assigned. This would include many facets of the interface including guaranteeing quality of order entry and appointment making, relationship establishment and development, issue resolution and business level monitoring. In the most general sense, the CSR would be responsible for maintaining an exceptional contact with the client’s needs. In addition, the CSR works in concert with the entire Customer Service team in the servicing of all clients.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Day to Day Customer Contact: The CSR will be a single point of contact between their assigned customer(s) and Bison Transport—ensuring that the customer’s needs are properly understood and served.  
  • Operational Responsibilities: The CSR should aid in the translation of customer needs into positive action by the company. The CSR must work with planning personnel to ensure maximum equipment utilization while maintaining targeted customer service levels. 
  • Relationship Building: The CSR will be responsible for fostering a strong relationship with all client personnel who require day-to-day service from our company  
  • Level of Service: The CSR must know the level of service (LOS) that their client requires on any single shipment, and for their business overall.  
  • Volume and Destination Trend Analysis: Along with the knowledge of all their customer’s individual shipment requirements, the CSR must also know their general trends of business volume, the destination mix, and any changes or unusual developments.

The Driver Services Recruiter is accountable for ensuring that the Company is provided with a sufficient quantity and quality of Drivers and Owner Operators, in a manner that is both efficient and effective.  This must be accomplished by selling the driver program to all potential hires, engaging in competitive market, pre-screening and assisting in driver qualification.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with the Driver Recruiting Team to ensure that the Company is provided with adequate quality and quantity of Drivers and Owner Operators. Interviewing potential company drivers and/or owner operators, reviewing applications and ensuring all required documents are completed, completing reference checks, and either recommending or declining applicants, pre-screening all walk-in and phone inquiries by driver applicants.
  • Actively gathering strategic information on our competitors in regards to rates, leases, equipment types, fuel pricing, trip lengths and type of haul, etc., to ensure we remain competitive in the changing marketplace.
  • Responsible for ensuring the overall standards of our safety & compliance programs are met as they apply to all potential and new hires.
  • Engage in other projects and activities as is necessary to the position and as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Human Resource experience and/or education would be an asset.
  • Progressive knowledge of the Transportation Industry.

Senior Manager, Logistics – Britton Transport

The Role: 

This newly created career opportunity will be based out of our Grand Forks, ND office. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Senior Manager will uphold corporate policy, procedure, direction and culture; ensuring program objectives/goals are met. This includes the monitoring of freight volumes, service levels, margins, carrier performance, carrier and client development, and maintaining the overall performance of the department.  This is accomplished by strong written and verbal communication, cultivating both internal and external relationships and providing leadership, support and direction. In addition, this incumbent will drive business growth of the brokerage by research new opportunities and initiatives, build relationships with clients, negotiate contracts, and lead the implementation of new business into the Britton Transport network.  The Senior Manager will ensure team members are working towards established goals and programs and will provide leadership, mentorship and ongoing development to team members.

·         Progressive knowledge of the transportation industry including competition and trends is considered an asset.
