Bison Transport's Maintenance Department ensures that all of the fleet equipment is maintained and repaired in a safe, expedited and cost efficient manner. If you have a mechanical aptitude, an understanding of computerized machinery, good communication and analytical skills as well as flexibility, we have the opportunity for you!

For each level of apprenticeship, apprentices attend school for blocks of time. Courses are designed to teach theory and practical work in the areas of mechanics, standard and automatic transmissions, electrical, brake and steering systems, gas and diesel engine overhaul, rear axles, suspension and servicing of equipment. Included are a number of related trade courses such as arc and gas welding, mathematics, science and communication. Theory grades are determined by examinations in each course. Completed practical assignments are included in the evaluation of final grades.

1. What kind of support did you receive during your apprenticeship?
I've received a lot of support from my co-workers and bosses; they answer all of
my questions and have shown me how to work productively and safely.
2. What made you pick Bison Transport?
The reason why I chose Bison is because I heard it was an amazing company and I had been
to Bison for 2 weeks previously as part of my apprenticeship program. During those two weeks,
everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming and I knew it was a place I wanted to work.
3. Do you have any advice for Apprentice students applying with Bison?
Be on time, work hard, apply yourself and listen.
4. How has your career progressed?
I went from being an apprentice with no work experience to an apprentice who is now confident to work on his own.
5. How would you describe Bison to potential candidates?
It is a great place to work with a clean and organized shop. All of the staff is friendly and eager to help.
