Fleet Maintenance Manager

As the Fleet Maintenance Manager you will manage and lead our team of over 60 employees in our maintenance facility. You will utilize your proven Management skills to provide leadership and support to all experience levels. You will be responsible for ensuring safety, productivity and work quality goals are met. Using your excellent organization skills, you will partner with all Shop Managers to ensure that production and quality objectives are met.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Support and maintain an efficient Winnipeg maintenance operation, which systematically meets the goals/objectives for the location and customers

  • Encourage business retention and growth through excellent customer service

  • Establish and maintain local serviceability plan to exceed customer requirements

  • Provide leadership and direction to shop personnel, establish and coordinate training and development of shop personnel

  • Effectively manage local assets including vehicles, facility, inventory, tools and equipment

  • Ensure compliance with Bison's maintenance standards and with all relevant local, provincial and federal requirements and lead safety within the location.

Our Ideal Candidate will possess:

  • 3 years of proven management experience required

  • Strong coaching, mentoring and leadership background

  • Mechanical background, preferably dealing with heavy duty truck and trailer

  • Progressive knowledge of maintenance or transportation industry is preferred

  • Computer literacy

  • Ability to effectively manage time and organize tasks

  • Strong interpersonal skills, presentation and communication skills

  • Strong relations skills

  • Excellent problem-solving ability including the ability to recognize, assess, report and provide solutions

  • Ability to effectively manage time and organize tasks

  • Tactfully dispenses direct and actionable feedback; is open and direct with others.

Strong organizational skills with a clear sense of urgency about planning and executing work, as well as your ability to maintain composure, effectiveness and flexibility under pressure will be key to your success in this position.
