Avalanche control work is causing significant disruptions along the Trans-Canada Highway through B.C.’s Interior today. The highway is closed in both directions between Revelstoke and Golden, BC for approximately 141 km, with no detour available, and closures are expected to continue over the next two days.
The Highway #1 corridor between Calgary, AB, and Vancouver, BC, is critical to supply chains throughout Western Canada and the BC Coast. Alternative highway options exist, albeit with significant out-of-route mileage via Highway #3 (BC South) or via Edmonton.
Customers should expect delays on shipments moving through this region, and our operations team is monitoring conditions closely and will provide updates as they become available.
