An overnight closure of Highway 1 between Winnipeg, MB and Portage la Prairie, MB disrupted outbound movements from Winnipeg late last night into early this morning. Ten LCV departures were unable to leave Winnipeg and several inbound loads were delayed.
While lighter westbound volumes mean no backlog is expected on westbound or eastbound lanes, some service impacts are anticipated for freight scheduled for early Friday morning delivery into Alberta and Saskatchewan. Operations are resuming as conditions allow, and teams are prioritizing recovery moves to stabilize schedules through the remainder of today.
