— UPDATE – Mar 10, 7:52 am —

LCV operations between Manitoba and Saskatchewan resumed yesterday afternoon following improved highway conditions after the freezing rain event. Teams are currently working through remaining backlogs, and with Travel Not Recommended conditions near Saskatoon this morning, LCV movements in that corridor are temporarily operating as single trailers until conditions improve.

— ORIGINAL POST —

Weather conditions across the Prairie LCV corridors created operational challenges over the weekend as a system moved east through Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. Precipitation transitioned from snow in southern Alberta to rain and mixed precipitation in Saskatchewan, before freezing rain created hazardous highway conditions in southern Manitoba overnight.

The most significant impact occurred in Manitoba where icy roads resulted in several drivers exercising their Right-to-Decide (RTD) and not departing due to safety concerns.

Planning and dispatch teams are actively executing recovery plans to move the backlog while continuing to manage committed freight volumes. We are also working with LCV drivers who did not depart overnight to confirm availability for additional shifts this week, which will help accelerate recovery efforts.

We will continue to monitor highway and weather conditions closely and provide updates as recovery progresses. If you have any questions regarding your freight, please contact your Bison account manager.
