Conditions across the Prairie network remain highly challenging this morning, with significant impacts continuing across Alberta and Saskatchewan corridors.

Current Network Status

  • Edmonton–Saskatoon corridor:
    • Very limited trailer movement overnight due to poor conditions
    • Travel Not Recommended (TNR) is now in effect between Saskatoon and Edmonton
  • Regina westbound corridors:
    • Remain heavily impacted with ongoing restrictions and reduced visibility
  • Calgary operations:
    • Drivers are actively utilizing RTDs to haul single trailers due to extreme wind conditions

Weather Outlook – Today

  • Saskatchewan:
    • Ongoing heavy snow, blowing snow, and reduced visibility
    • Strong winds continue to create whiteout conditions across multiple corridors
  • Alberta:
    • Extreme winds remain the primary concern, particularly in southern and central regions
    • Snow squalls and localized bands may develop, creating rapidly changing conditions

Weekend Outlook

  • The system is expected to linger and retrograde westward, extending impacts through the weekend:
    • Continued snowfall and blowing snow across Saskatchewan
    • Intermittent snow squalls in Alberta, especially around Edmonton corridor
    • Gradual improvement expected late weekend, though recovery conditions will be inconsistent

Operational Impact

  • LCV operations continue to be restricted, with widespread conversion to single trailers
  • Expect:
    • Ongoing delays and reduced capacity across all major corridors
    • Freight holding and backlog development, particularly eastbound
    • Limited recovery opportunities until conditions stabilize

We will continue to monitor closely and adjust operations as conditions evolve. Further updates will follow as we assess improvement windows.
