–UPDATE | Mar 26, 12:45 pm —
Travel Not Recommended restrictions have now been lifted on the eastern Saskatchewan corridor between Wolseley and Moosomin, with highway conditions showing improvement in the area. However, we are now receiving reports of reduced visibility in western Saskatchewan, which may impact operations in those corridors.
–ORIGINAL POST–
Current conditions in Saskatchewan have resulted in Travel Not Recommended between Wolseley and Moosomin. As a result, we have shifted to single trailer operations on the Regina ↔ Winnipeg corridor to maintain safe movement through the affected area. We anticipate this restriction will lift within the next few hours as conditions improve. In Alberta, we are also seeing an increase in drivers utilizing RTD out of Calgary due to poor highway conditions. Similar to Saskatchewan, this is expected to stabilize with daylight and improving road conditions.
Network Context (Past 24 Hours):
- Multiple drivers exercised RTD and moved single trailers across the network
- No formal highway closures were reported
- However, rapid temperature changes and precipitation created poor driving conditions across several regions within the Prairie LCV network
- These impacts have created imbalance and reduced capacity, which we are actively working through
Approach:
- Continue to prioritize safety with appropriate use of singles where required
- Monitor corridor conditions closely for reintroduction of full LCV operations
- Focus on rebalancing equipment and recovering network fluidity as conditions improve
We will provide further updates as the situation evolves.
