Current conditions across the Prairies continue to impact operations, with Travel Not Recommended (TNR) status in effect across parts of Saskatchewan and poor highway conditions reported throughout Manitoba.

Operational Status

  • Single trailer operations only across all Prairie LCV lanes 
  • Exception: Calgary ↔ Regina corridor remains eligible for LCV operations currently 
  • Expect reduced transit speeds and capacity constraints across the network 

Weather Update (Environment Canada)

  • Ongoing low-pressure system bringing additional snowfall of 5–15 cm across southern Manitoba today, on top of overnight accumulation 
  • Snow will begin tapering:
    • Western Manitoba: this afternoon 
    • Eastern Manitoba: this evening 
  • Saskatchewan continues to experience TNR conditions and poor visibility, impacting safe highway travel 

Service Impact

  • Delays are expected across Prairie corridors 
  • Increased risk of recovery challenges as conditions persist 
  • Teams should continue to prioritize safety, monitor highway updates, and adjust plans proactively

A late-season Alberta clipper is forecast to impact portions of the Prairies, bringing significant snowfall and deteriorating travel conditions across both Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

Manitoba

  • Snowfall totals of 15–30 cm expected across western and central regions 
  • Snow beginning this afternoon, tapering overnight Wednesday into Thursday morning 
  • Impacts:
    • Challenging travel conditions 
    • Potential road closures 
    • Risk of localized utility outages 

Saskatchewan

  • Snowfall totals of 10–20 cm expected across central regions 
  • Snow beginning today, tapering overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning 
  • Impacts:
    • Reduced visibility and poor road conditions 
    • Potential road closures 

Operational Impact

  • Expect service delays across affected corridors, particularly on east-west Prairie lanes 
  • Planning adjustments and potential reduced speeds / single operations may be required depending on road conditions 
  • Teams should closely monitor highway reports and be proactive in adjusting plans to mitigate service risk
