— UPDATE: Dec 30, 3:49 pm —
Both Highway 11 and 17 have now been opened and any freight still impacted by that closure should be moving.
— UPDATE: Dec 30, 10:00am —
Highway 11 remains closed between Longlac and North Bay. Bison trucks will continue routing via Highway 17 for Manitoba–Ontario shipments, which helps maintain service continuity but may add transit time. Carriers already positioned on Highway 11 at the time of closure continue to face delays, which could create downstream congestion and residual impacts across the network.
If you have questions about specific shipments or timing, please reach out to your account manager.
–ORIGINAL POST–
Both primary east-west highway corridors between Manitoba and Ontario/Quebec are closed this morning, with Highway 11 shut down between Nipigon and Longlac and Highway 17 closed between Mobert and Sault Ste. Marie. As a result, there is currently no through travel available between Manitoba and Ontario, which may lead to transit delays, adjusted delivery timelines, and temporary shipment holds for freight moving through this corridor.
Our operations teams are actively monitoring conditions while managing backlog across both asset-based and logistics networks to minimize disruption. Please reach out to your account manager if you have any questions or would like to discuss how this may impact your specific shipments.
