Winnipeg, MB, Tuesday January 4, 2011 – Bison Transport announces the arrival of 200 new 53' heated Trailers set to arrive in early January 2011. The addition of these new units will represent new capacity to the market, and adds to Bison's 3000 plus fleet of dry, heated, refrigerated and multi-temp trailers. All of the new heated trailers will be the ultimate in environmental stewardship, outfitted with aerodynamic trailer fairings and pintle hooks for Bison's Long Combination Vehicle's (LCV) operation.

In addition to the trailer growth, Bison Transport also recently announced replacements of approximately 300 of its tractors in 2011 with brand new tractor equipment that will enhance the fuel efficiency and "greening" of the company's tractor fleet.

Bison currently runs the most extensive LCV fleet in North America. In 2010 Bison's LCVs traveled over 17 million miles resulting in a reduction of 8.1 million litres in fuel consumption and a reduction of 22 million Kgs of GHG's (Greenhouse Gases). Bison Transport also participates in the Ontario LCV pilot project, and has recently acquired and is developing a 13 acre property in Comber ON (East of Windsor ON) to complement and support that part of their operation.
