Bison Transport's Focus on Safety expands into a new Program for Mechanics
Thursday Nov 26, 2009

Thursday, November 26, 2009 – This week Bison Transport introduced a new Mechanic Safety Award Program (MSAP); designed to promote, improve and reward Bison's Mechanics for their outstanding performance and commitment to Bison's high standards of safety.

Similar to Bison Transport's Safe Driving Reward Program (SDRP), where Drivers are recognized for their continued contributions to safety, Mechanics are also recognized for their contributions to not only a safe workplace, but for their dedication to upholding Bison's reputation of being the safest fleet in North America.

The MSAP quarterly and annually recognizes those Mechanics who attain safe consecutive working hours while exposed to a high risk working environment. The goal is to reduce injuries and damage to equipment.

"At Bison, Safety is our top priority. The very best training & equipment would be meaningless if we did not empower our people to make those decisions that impact safety." says Don Streuber, President & CEO.

Bison's superior preventative maintenance program minimizes downtime on the road, keeping drivers rolling and customer's freight delivered on time. Many of Bison's mechanics will be awarded for their contributions to safety this year at Bison's annual regional award ceremonies.
