Bison Transport raises close to $100,000 for Cancer Research!
Thursday Jun 17, 2010

Thursday, June 17, 2010 - Bison Transport employees recently participated in two separate events to raise funds and awareness for Cancer Research.

Our team from Winnipeg, MB participated in the CancerCare Manitoba Challenge for Life 20K walk on Saturday June 12 and our team from Bison's Mississauga, ON office walked in the Canadian Cancer Society 12 hour Relay for Life on Friday June 4. Combined our two teams raised nearly $100,000 for Cancer Research.

It was truly a corporate effort as Bison employees who were not walking were given the opportunity to participate in the fundraising in other ways including, organizing a public car wash, a Jeans Day, an employee silent auction and through donations. In addition, Bison Transport corporately donated $250 to each walker for signing up to participate in the events

"Bison is proud to have taken part in such a worthy cause. Cancer affects us all. We have several members of the Bison Transport Family who are battling various forms of this disease right now" says Bison President & CEO Don Streuber. "As a large organization, taking an active role in these events was the right thing to do." he adds.
