Winnipeg, MB (Tuesday, November 24, 2009) – Bison Transport's driver Roger Maltman of Winnipeg Manitoba has reached 2 million accident free consecutive safe driving miles with Bison. Roger achieved this milestone through his dedication to safety and has represented both Bison and our industry with the utmost professionalism. Bison Transport will be formally recognizing Roger's achievement at its annual awards banquet.
A driver with Bison Transport since 1994, Roger is currently seen on our Prairie highways as part of Bison's long combination vehicle (LCV) network where he hauls in combination two 53 foot trailers simultaneously with a single tractor. Long combination vehicles are cost effective, induce less stress on the highway system and are environmentally superior in terms of fuel consumption and Greenhouse Gas Emissions.
"We congratulate Roger on his achievement. As a professional driver, Roger is a role model setting a benchmark in safety that very few achieve." says Garth Pitzel, Director Safety and Driver Development for Bison.
