Bison Transport was recognized at the Truckload Carriers Association’s (TCA) Annual Convention earlier this week, earning five awards for its safety record and driver programs.
Bison Transport received first place in the National Fleet Safety Awards in the over 100 million mile category, for the 8th consecutive time. Bison also received the Grand Prize National Fleet Safety Award for the large carrier division for the 7th time. No other carrier has achieved this level of success in the 38 year history of the awards.
In addition to the National Fleet Safety awards, Bison Transport made it on the list of Best Fleets to Drive For. This is the fourth time in the contest’s six year history Bison has earned this distinction. Carriers are nominated by drivers and evaluated on their driver programs and their effectiveness. Bison received the highest score ever recorded in the programs section and demonstrated outstanding driver-retention numbers, earning Bison the Top 10 Company Driver Fleets and the 2014's Overall Best Fleet for Company Drivers.
Alongside this recognition, Jack Fielding, a 16 year veteran of Bison’s driving fleet, received Company Driver of the Year. The contest recognizes the top company drivers and owner operators in the U.S. and Canada, who provide reliable and safe truck transportation in moving North America's goods. To win, they must demonstrate that they have operated in a safe manner on the public highways, helped to enhance the public image of the trucking industry, and made positive contributions to their communities.
