May 12, 2014 –Over the past 12 months Bison Transport has accomplished something few trucking companies can claim, earning Driver of the Year awards at the provincial, national and international level.
Mark Tricco was named the Manitoba Driver of the Year by the Manitoba Trucking Association -Volvo Trucks Canada for his extensive safety record, 33 years of accident free driving and his commitment to a safer industry.
Rob Wells was named as the National Driver of the Year though the Canadian Trucking Alliance and Volvo Canada. The annual Driver of the Year contest identifies and honors the best men and women traveling the roads today. They drive safely, give to their communities, and enhance the image of trucking.
Jack Fielding was named as the North American Driver of the Year in the Truckload Carriers Association’s (TCA) 2014 Company Driver of the Year contest. Winners must demonstrate they have operated in a safe manner on the public highways, helped to enhance the public image of the trucking industry, and made positive contributions to their communities.
“We are extremely proud to have three of our drivers honored as the best of the best on the Provincial, National and International stage! Mark, Robert and Jack exemplify safety and professionalism and we truly appreciate their leadership and commitment to us and to our industry,” said Rob Penner, Executive Vice President and COO. “I have a deep respect for all professional drivers and know there are many vying for and deserving of this recognition. To have three of our own represented at all levels of trucking in one year speaks volumes about the culture and environment we have built in collaboration with our professional drivers here at Bison!”
